SGA Statement on AI

AI is already proving useful in games, especially through coding agents. However, its environmental and social impacts remain difficult to assess due to limited transparency and comparable data. To help game developers maximize benefits and minimize harms, AI providers should disclose more information about both training and inference, enabling informed decisions about the environmental and social costs and impacts of AI systems.

SGA Update on Empowering Consumers in the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive

The Empowering Consumers in the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive amends EU Directives 2005/29/EC (the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive; UCPD) and 2011/83/EU (the Consumer Rights Directive, CRD. The ECGT became European law in February 2024, with member states adopting it by 27 March 2026, and enforcement to begin from 27 September 2026.

SGA & EGDF Joint Statement on UK ISSB

To influence the current Exposure draft of UK Sustainability Reporting Standards: UK SRS S1 and UK SRS S2, the European Games Developer Federation (EDGF) and SGA submitted a joint statement to support the UK government’s amendments to IFRS S1/2 for the UK context as minimally disruptive and appropriate to aiding a fast and efficient transition.

SGA & EGDF Joint Statement on Omnibus Proposal

More time and cost effective sustainability compliance, more predictability. To influence the current proposal of changes to the EU sustainability regulations, the European Games Developer Federation (EDGF) and SGA submitted a joint statement on the new delegated act on Taxonomy (Omnibus Package) to the EU Commission.
